Ailments & Treatments: Stem Cell Therapy

Most stem cell protocols (IV infusions or localized injections) are outpatient procedures. We typically recommend a 3-7 day stay: one day for arrival and final blood work, one day for the procedure, and one to five day(s) for observation before traveling home.

Stem cell therapy is regulated by COFEPRIS (Mexico’s equivalent of the FDA). Our partner facilities operate under strict licenses that allow for the expansion and application of mesenchymal stem cells, which is more advanced than what is currently permitted in many other countries. Because we use adult mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), the risk of rejection is extremely low. The most common side effects are “flu-like” symptoms (fatigue or a mild fever) for 24–48 hours after treatment as the body’s immune system responds to the cells.

Regeneration is a process, not an event. While some patients report reduced inflammation within days, the most significant clinical improvements typically appear between 3 and 6 months after the procedure as the cells repair damaged tissue. You can include this quick-reference table to help users understand the “Adult Stem Cell” advantage they read about on your other page.

We ask that you provide a full list of medications during your initial consultation. Some anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) may need to be paused briefly to allow the stem cells to initiate the healing process. We offer “door-to-door” concierge services, including pick-up from the San Diego (SAN) airport and transportation to your hotel and the clinic.

“Still have questions? Our medical coordinators are available to conduct a free file review to determine whether you are a candidate for adult stem cell therapy.
